Seven years on from the events of Monsters, and the ‘Infected Zones’ have spread worldwide. Humans have been knocked off the top of the food chain, with disparate communities struggling for survival. American soldiers are being sent abroad to protect US interests from the Monsters, but the war is far from being won.

Noah, a haunted soldier with several tours under his belt, is sent on a mission: an American soldier has gone rogue deep in the Infected Zone, and Noah must reach him and take him out. But when Noah’s unit and transport are destroyed, he finds himself with only a young and inexperienced cadet for company – the brother of the man Noah has been sent to kill.

The two soldiers must go on a life-altering journey through the dark heart of monster territory, accompanied by a young local woman to guide them. By the time the three of them reach their goal, they will have been forced to confront the fear that the true monsters on the planet may not be alien after all.

I guess I'm the only one here who fell in love with the first movie for what it was. It wasn't a scifi monsterfest of a movie but it was something else entirely. It was a beautiful film with amazing realistic performances and chemistry between two characters wandering through and avoiding as much as they can, a monster fest. I loved it ALOT as it's one of the first movies to draw my attention towards movies that are mainly about the chemistry of characters versus the entertainment value of a good scifi. They mesh the two together wonderfully. And everything felt genuine and as realistic as I've ever seen in a scifi film. The visuals were great for what they were (they were made VERY cheaply), but it didn't take away from the beautiful tone of the film overall. I think it's a highly underrated film and a hidden gem. A very fine movie.

Let's hope it better than the previous movie that one so boring I skipped to the end an even that was a letdown.  Since this is a teaser I'll give it the benefit of the doubt it'll be better.  Perhaps the next trailer will show more to decide if I want to go to the theater to see it.

No, I think it's because he creates a planet with so many possibilities for stories and makes it into a dull semi-road trip movie. He didn't have to focus on the action, he just had to do something of substance with the monsters. I mean come on, why even have them in the movie? It could have just as easily been a movie about people living in the apocalypse and people hunting them. Would have been the exact same movie.

I was disappointed with the first film. This looks slightly more promising. Fingers crossed.
