"Congo" – Movie Trailer

Congo is a 1995 action film, based on the novel of the same name by Michael Crichton.

It was directed by Frank Marshall and stars Laura Linney, Dylan Walsh, Tim Curry, Ernie Hudson, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Grant Heslov, Joe Don Baker and Bruce Campbell.

The film was released on June 9, 1995.

The film begins with TraviCom employee Charles Travis (Campbell), the ex-fiancé of Dr. Karen Ross (Linney), testing a laser gun in a remote part of the Congo.

Charles’ friend goes in to a cave to get his bag and is killed and mutilated offscreen.

Whatever killed him throws his eyeball at Charles and lets out a roar, sounding very much like a gorilla.

When Charles’s crew is discovered dead and something attacks the video camera, an enraged TraviCom CEO, R.B. Travis (Baker) reveals that the purpose of exploring the Congo is to find the local diamond mines and expand his satellite technologies.

A film well worth watching.

Let's pretend these movies makers are trying to brainwash Americans to think that this is what really happens in Congo. well actually that is REALLY what they are trying to do. But hum while this is happening (by this I mean, animals going crazy killing people everywhere, and villagers dying) so meanwhile, what are Congolese cities doing?? I wonder why they never show the city side of African countries, all African countries have beautiful cities but we never see them on the internet or on TV. hmmm I wonder why…. and We are all dumb enough to accept to be brainwashed to believing that Africa is a dangerous place a place where ALL children die from hunger and where there are no houses, people live with or like animals. when deep down we wonder if this is really true but still keep going with the lies that are being shown to us. Africa is beautiful. Until you go and see how wonderful it is with your own eyes, you'll never get out of the brainwashing.

My parens told me I cried rivers when I saw this movie. It came out on 1995 and I was born on 1996, I'm guessing I watched on TV years later, maybe I was three/four years old. But why did I cry so bad? Does Amy die? I usually cry when gorillas die, but I can't even understand what this movie is about!

    Ya… those were different types.

    This was a weird movie.

Old people didnt like this cus of the scary apes (according to Rosana)?

This movie had Egyptian or Mesopotamian symbolism in it.

Very intresting how this is used as metaphors in movies now.

Didn't read the book, but did love the movie! Featured a very sexy turn by Ernie Hudson. So Un-Ghostbuster like! I had to have it in my collection. Thanks for posting the trailer!
